SEND and the Curriculum

At Hawksmoor Primary School, the curriculum is delivered through high quality teaching that is differentiated to meet the needs of the majority of pupils. We ensure that all staff in the school are able to identify and provide for those pupils who have special educational needs or disabilities. Some pupils will need something additional to and different from what is provided for the majority of pupils; this is special educational provision and we will use our best endeavours to ensure that provision is made for those who need it. The school’s SEND policy directs the work of all staff working at Windrush, ensuring all students are fully included in the life of the school and are supported to achieve their potential.

The school makes full use of all agencies which can help to ensure that every child’s needs are met. These agencies include support guidance and advice from speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, Occupational Therapists, School based counselling, MHIST, STEPS Literacy Service, ASD Outreach and the Social Communications Project.

For further information on our provision for pupils with additional needs, please see the SEND Policy and SEND Information Report.
